It was gratifying to read Michele Veillon's guest column, which presented the consequences of Alzheimer's and informed readers both of an upcoming benefit walk on Nov. 12 and a website, www.alz.org, highlighting numerous topics.

In discussions about Alzheimer's, the emphasis is usually on the family member racked by this incurable disease. However, it is important to remember the toll on caregivers whose grief is as persistent as flies surrounding a carcass.
